FIRST PLAGUE
God in His temple orders the pouring of the bowl plagues. These plagues are far worse than even the plagues that God poured out on Pharaoh so that he would let the Jewish people go. Whereas the seven trumpet warnings only affected one third of what they touched the plagues will affect all of what they touch.
These plagues unlike those that were poured out upon Egypt are mixed with the wrath of God which makes them infinitely more unbearable.
The first plague is poured upon the earth and a foul and painful seeping sore appears on those who accept the mark or do homage to the image of the first Beast from the Sea. This ulcer is described in the King James as being 'noisome'. This term in the Greek means among other things, troublesome, injurious, pernicious, destructive or baneful.
These sores do not come and go quickly. The timeframe for the pouring out of the seven plagues is three and a half years. The sores appear and last to at least the fifth plague where it is recorded that they "...blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, "
This plague falls on the entire population of the earth. The Beast from the Sea has by this time eradicated the entire Christian population from the earth. He did this by requiring everyone to receive a mark so that those who refused the mark would be set apart from the rest of the world population. These Christians in turn he required to worship the image. Refusing to do so resulted in death.
