A little about me:
I am glad that you have taken the time to visit my Revelation page. I have been a student of the Word since 1986 when I received the Lord into my heart. Over the last four years I have embarked upon a study of the book of Revelation of which this web-site is just a small part. During this study I purposed in my heart not to read any kind of commentary whatsoever concerning Revelation until after I had heard from the Lord. I have always believed that the Holy Spirit is the best interpreter of God's Word and that people would do well to listen to His voice rather than all of the voices of those striving for their attention.
The primary premise that I have adhered to throughout this study is that God had a specific order in mind when He gave the Revelation to John. It is extremely important not to take the occurrences contained in the book of Revelation out of sequence, but to interpret the Revelation in the sequence that God gave it.
My secondary premise that I have followed is that the seven seals are mile markers, so to speak, of the time of the church. The seven seals are opened between Daniel's 69th and 70th week. See THE SEVENTY SEVENS OF DANIEL. Jesus started opening the seals at the time that the Revelation was given to John. They do not tell us exactly when the Lord will return, but they do indicate how close we are to the end of the age.
A third premise that I have followed in my study is that the prophetic visions contained in the book of Revelation must first be interpreted literally. When the vision is obviously figurative then the literal meaning for the figurative language must be discerned. After all, we do serve a literal God.
